Jennifer Walters

November 7th, 2009

LA, Jen's Universe, Saturday @ 12:06 pm

Dr. Morbius himself was afflicted, Jen soon found out. A man turned vampire by science.

It made him the perfect man to help her. But also the perfect man to betray her.

It was with no small triumph of will that Dr. Morbius created a serum that could cure Jen of the terrible blood disease that was wracking her system -- something that threatened to kill her at any moment. Jennifer drank the serum, and felt nothing... her powerful metabolism as The She-Hulk refused the serum the power to heal her body.

She had to change back, to being just Jennifer Walters, if her life was to be saved. She'd never changed at will, she had no idea how. She was scared and lost and had only a strange man for company as she feared for her life...

She thought of Zack, of how she didn't want to just disappear on him. She thought of Alice, of George, of Didi and Ellie and all of her friends at Fandom. She had to try, for herself and for her friends.

And with a yell of pain, the green faded from her skin and she collapsed.

She would owe Doctor Morbius a big favor in the future. She left him with humble thanks, and he told her the strangest thing.

No longer would she be subject to the whims of anger... it was a matter of will and endurance for her to become the She-Hulk.

Jennifer left him, and went to go find her father. Hopefully he would be grateful to see her alive and safe.

LA, Jen's Universe, Friday Night @ 06:33 pm

It was not a routine trip home. Not that Jen had any idea what a 'routine' trip home would be, at this rate.

She barely had the chance to say hello to her father before something terrible happened. Trask's goons had attacked, and her father shoved her behind something to 'protect her' while he exchanged fire. The upside being that her father didn't actually see Jennifer change. But something happened that Jen had never felt before. She felt her insides twist, and she was wracked with the worst pain she'd ever felt as she became the She-Hulk. She screamed, a scream that sent everyone running, but not her father. She was the one who had to run, then. Leaving Morris Walters angry and worried that his daughter had disappeared during the mayhem.

Jennifer passed out from the pain not far from the airport. When she awoke, she was still the She-Hulk... and she was in a jail cell.

Her father yelled at her, completely unaware that he was yelling at his daughter. He threw a newspaper at her, talking about how he had two killers -- one of which meant herself, Jen realized -- in his custody, and he'd make examples of them both.

She studied the newspaper, a front page article about a 'mass murderer' being held at UCLA. A Doctor Morbius, a man specializing in blood.

Jen knew what she had to do. And no barred window could possibly hold up against the might of the She-Hulk. She smashed her way out, and headed towards UCLA under the cloak of night.

Jennifer wasn't one for big parties. Yet. Give her some time.

But she'd been elected to student council today! So she had cupcakes, and was dancing in her room to The Beatles.

There may have been a bottle of peach schnapps involved, too. The lush.

[ooc: Door is open, so is post!]

Room 510, Monday Early Evening @ 05:06 pm

Jennifer had entered her room, wearing a red t-shirt and brown cargo pants, expecting to grab a book and then hit a common room to find out who exactly half the boys Dinah had mentioned actually were.

What she did not expect was to be promptly bitten on the hand by not one, but two gremlins.

She managed to get hit with a double whammy of gremlin spit and shift into the She-Hulk at once. She then grabbed a squirt gun and a cowboy hat from her closet, finishing off her ensemble.

"Snipin's a good job, mate," she declared, in a terrible Australian accent. She marched out of her room, ready to fight those evil BLUs!

[Establishy. Yes, she thinks she's the Red Sniper from Team Fortress 2.]

Jennifer woke up that morning, and didn't quite feel like getting out of bed.

So instead, she rolled over, grabbed her book on recent US History, and started to read. Nerd alert, she actually thought this was a great start to the day. The lazy butt.

Jennifer was not a happy camper when she stomped into her dorm that night.

'Gone to track down this She-Hulk spotted in town last night. Can't let these super menaces ruin my county. Taxi will take you to airport at noon. Be safe, be good, Dad'.

That was all she got to hear from her father after the fight. A note saying that he was off to hunt down her. She hadn't even destroyed anything! She just... accidentally scared some people. And knocked over a tree. But that also was an accident.

She wasn't going to Fight Club, not when she was liable to Hulk Out at any moment. Instead, she just sat on her bed and tried to stay calm.

The Walters Household, Jen's LA, Saturday Evening @ 08:38 pm

Jennifer was pleased with her visit home so far, but knew that she was about to change the tone entirely. It was towards the end of dinner with her father, and she decided to ask one of the questions she'd been avoiding.

Draaaaaaaamaaaaaa )

Room 510, Friday Night @ 10:02 pm

Jen had been worried about the stuff going on in town, but she herself wasn't the best researcher for non-legal matters. Since she'd not been having any weird sleep spells herself, she figured the best plan was to stay out of the way and let other people work their magic. If she could help, they'd let her know.

So for now, that meant spending time with a friend she'd not shared enough time with lately.

On the floor of her. With tea. And her goldfish. And her friend's stuffed bunny.

[ooc: For one. Yes, we're dorks.]

Jennifer hurried back into her room, a fish bowl in her arms with two goldfish in it.

"Okay, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, welcome to your new home!" she said, before setting the bowl on a desk. "You're gonna love it here.

[ooc: Open! The fish are totally canon.]

LA County Hospital to LAX, Jen's LA, Saturday. @ 06:24 pm

When Jennifer came to, there were two things she was painfully aware of.

The first was the literal pain, from where she'd been sewn up the night before. Apparently, she'd been shot. For what reason, she had no idea.

The second thing was that her father was there. He was holding her hand, ever the concerned father. But the instant he realised she was awake, he was gruff again. Bossing her around, out of concern and love, though she was still hurt by it.

She'd been saved by a transfusion, apparently. Bruce had given her one, at a local clinic. He'd broken in, just to help her. And then he'd left her at the hospital, and driven off.

That wasn't the weird part. The weird part is that apparently some huge green hulking monster had been spotted fleeing from the city limits last night, as well. That was weird.

But her dad, he wasn't letting Jen say a single word. She'd be checked out of the hospital that afternoon and flown back to school, where it was safe and she couldn't be hurt.

She felt her blood boil up into her ears, but before anything could happen, the sedatives kicked in again and she was asleep.

Later, on the plane, she'd find the note from Doc. It was cryptic, but she definitely got the feeling that he was on the run from something. Something he couldn't escape.

Little did she know, that this incident was far from over.

LAX, Friday Night @ 01:38 pm

Jennifer had left Fandom earlier that day, getting to BWI with no problem.

If there was one thing Jennifer would really hate about that night she'd hate the most, it was how she barely could remember what happened.

She'd gotten off the flight just fine. She met Doc (her cousin, Bruce Banner) at the baggage claim, getting scooped up in a big hug. He was talking about needing to tell her something, something big. He wouldn't tell her until they got to his car, of course.

She never got into his car. It was in the parking lot, she was reaching for the door when she felt it, just that one brief second. It was like getting slammed against a wall, except she was standing still.

And then the world went black, and she saw nothing else, that night.

At Fight Club, [7/12] @ 09:32 pm

Jennifer was rather stupid for coming to Fight Club so soon after being shot. She was being macho and trying to prove to herself that she was just fine and able to take care of herself, no matter what her cousin may have said in his note. She had a bit of a baggier shirt on to cover up her bandages. She really hoped no one would notice.

She stretched, trying to get ready for this.

Jennifer had camped out on her bed, reading more material for her job. She'd been too social lately, she decided. Not enough time dedicated to what was really important.

She really shouldn't think that way. But overwork was ingrained into her genetics.

June 6th, 2009

Room 510, Saturday Afternoon. @ 02:49 pm

Jennifer had figured out she was feeling way too touchy-feely. You know, sometime in the middle of kissing Ellie.

And that might be why instead of going out shopping with her friend, she was in her own room and reading about California court procedure. It was boring, and it made her fidgety, but it was safe. Safe was what mattered, at that moment.

Jennifer had been avoiding her room a bit. It did make the whole 'settling in' concept difficult. But it also meant not having to deal with the 'George' factor. It's not that she didn't like George. She barely knew him.

It was the whole 'boy' thing. She was a little hung up on it.

So for now, she settled into her bed and was making some SAT study flashcards.

Los Angeles, Earth 616, 1972 @ 06:37 pm

Jennifer had packed her suitcases, said goodbye to Zapper, all the important things.

She still didn't know why her father was sending her to boarding school, especially during the summer. She'd been trying so hard to help him as best she could, but he was just so distant lately.

Jennifer didn't know or understand his motives. But she'd do her best to think what he was doing was right for the family.

She just hoped that he knew that she missed her mother, too. That they didn't have to do this apart.

Tomorrow, she'd be on a plane to Fandom. It was a weird name, but... she was a Los Angeles girl. She could deal with weird.

Oh, how little did she know...
